If you have a damaged or missing brick in your wall, you may assume that there’s nothing you can do about it. Bricks are ostensibly load-bearing elements, and one gets the sense that when you start messing around with one of them, it becomes easy to do damage to surrounding ones. But in fact, most bricks aren’t as load-bearing as they seem, and while it is possible to damage surrounding bricks, it’s actually not that hard to replace one without doing further damage. Just be careful and follow these steps.
Step 1: Get a replacement brick and soak it in a bucket of water.
