With microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, espresso machines, double sinks, cookie jars, breadboxes, and so on, kitchen space fills up quickly, and it’s easy to make things so cluttered that you run out of room to do your cooking. If you’re someone who loves to cook and spends a lot of time in the kitchen, this is a neverending conundrum. You want to have all the appliances and tools that you need, but you also want to have plenty of room to do your work. By following a few simple guidelines, you can start to take back your space.
1. Get bonus counter space: I’m not saying that you need to have a professional remodeler come out to extend your existing counter. It’s actually just as good to invest in a rolling prep table that you can place against an empty wall space. Of course, it doesn’t have to be a rolling one, but having those wheels makes it possible for your table to double as a breakfast bar.
